For the purposes of UK data protection law, Peter Browning, trading as Tittle T, is the data controller responsible for deciding how and why your personal information is used.

What information we collect
Depending on how you use TittleT.com, we may collect personal information including:
- your name;
- billing and delivery addresses;
- email address and telephone number;
- account and login information, if you create an account;
- details of products you order and your order history;
- information you provide when contacting us;
- technical information such as your IP address and information about your browser or device where this is necessary for the website, security or checkout to function;
- payment-related information needed to process your order; and
- information and files you provide when creating a personalised product, such as text, URLs, ISBNs, images, book covers or artwork.
- where you consent, information about how you found and used the website, including pages viewed, product interactions, basket activity, purchases, device information and advertising interactions;
We do not normally receive or store your full payment card details. Payments are processed by the payment provider used at checkout.
How we use your information
We use your personal information only where we have a lawful reason to do so. Depending on the circumstances, we may use it to:
- process and fulfil your orders;
- take payment and arrange delivery;
- provide customer service and respond to enquiries;
- manage your account, if you create one;
- prevent fraud, misuse or security incidents;
- comply with legal, tax and accounting obligations; and
- manage disputes, returns, refunds or other issues relating to an order.
Our main lawful bases are:
- Contract — where using your information is necessary to take steps at your request or to fulfil an order you have placed with us.
- Legal obligation — where we are required to keep or use information to comply with the law.
- Legitimate interests — where we have a genuine business or security reason to use information and your rights do not override that interest.
- Consent — where the law requires us to ask for your permission before using information for a particular purpose.
International data transfers
Some of the companies that provide services to Tittle T may process or store personal information outside the United Kingdom. Where personal information is transferred outside the UK, we will take appropriate steps to ensure that it is protected in accordance with UK data protection law. This may include relying on an adequacy decision or using approved contractual safeguards where required.
How long we keep your information
We keep personal information only for as long as it is reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including to fulfil orders, provide customer service, meet legal or accounting requirements, and deal with disputes or claims. Our website is currently configured to retain:
- inactive customer accounts for 2 years;
- pending orders for 7 days;
- failed orders for 30 days;
- cancelled orders for 1 year;
- refunded orders for 6 years; and
- completed orders for 6 years.
After the applicable period, personal information held in our website may be deleted or anonymised where appropriate. We may retain particular information for longer where this is required by law or reasonably necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. Third-party service providers, such as payment, fulfilment and delivery providers, may retain information in accordance with their own legal obligations and retention policies.
Personalised product files
If you create, preview or order a personalised product, we may collect and process information and files that you provide for the purpose of creating your design. This may include text, URLs, ISBNs, book covers, images, artwork, and other material you upload. We use this information to generate previews, prepare production artwork, fulfil your order, provide customer support, and deal with any problems relating to the order.
Temporary personalisation files that are not connected to an order are normally deleted automatically within a short period. Files associated with abandoned or unpaid orders are retained only temporarily before deletion. When a personalised order is marked as completed, the original customer-uploaded source files are deleted from our website storage.
Generated production and preview artwork may be retained for up to 210 days after completion so that we can deal with production issues, customer-service enquiries, replacements, disputes or similar order-related matters. Files relating to cancelled or refunded personalised orders are normally deleted within 7 days, unless we need to retain particular information for a legal, fraud-prevention or dispute-related reason. Personalised artwork may also be shared with our print-on-demand fulfilment provider where necessary to manufacture and fulfil your order.
International delivery notifications
If you ask us to let you know when Tittle T starts delivering to your country, we will collect your email address and selected country. We will use this information only to send you the international delivery notification you requested. We will not use this sign-up to send you unrelated marketing emails. We rely on your consent to use your information for this purpose.
You can withdraw your request at any time by contacting privacy@tittlet.com. We will keep your email address and selected country until we send the notification you requested, you withdraw your request, or we decide that the notification service is no longer required, whichever happens first. We will review this information periodically and delete it when it is no longer needed.
Missing Tittle Hunt prize draws
When you enter a Tittle T Missing Tittle Hunt prize draw, we collect:
- your name and email address;
- the date and time of your entry;
- confirmation that you are aged 18 or over;
- confirmation that you are a UK resident;
- confirmation that you accept the applicable prize-draw terms;
- the competition and version of the terms under which you entered; and
- whether you separately chose to receive emails about future Tittle T competitions and prize draws.
We do not ask ordinary entrants for their date of birth, telephone number, postal address, product preferences or payment information. No purchase is necessary to enter.
We use this information to administer the prize draw, validate entries, prevent duplicate or automated entries, select and contact a winner, fulfil the prize, maintain an appropriate audit record, and deal with enquiries, complaints or disputes.
Our lawful bases for this processing are:
- Contract — where the processing is necessary to administer the prize draw in accordance with its published terms.
- Legitimate interests — where necessary to operate the draw fairly and securely, prevent misuse, demonstrate that the prize was awarded correctly, and deal with complaints or legal claims.
- Consent — where an entrant separately asks to receive emails about future Tittle T competitions and prize draws.
- Legal obligation — where information must be used or retained to comply with applicable law or a regulatory requirement.
To limit automated or repeated submissions, the competition system may temporarily process technical information such as an IP address and browser information. The Missing Tittle Hunt plugin does not retain the raw IP address. It uses a short-lived, one-way identifier for rate limiting.
Winners and prize fulfilment
The selected winner will be contacted using the email address supplied with their entry. We will then ask for their chosen standard Tittle T design, an available size and colour, and a valid UK postal address. The postal address is collected only from the winner and used to arrange delivery and deal with any related fulfilment issue. It may be shared with a print-on-demand provider, fulfilment provider or delivery company where necessary to supply the prize.
The winner’s postal address will be removed when it is no longer reasonably required for delivery, customer service, dispute resolution or legal purposes. The competition system provides an administrator control that allows the address to be permanently removed while preserving the remaining draw and fulfilment audit record.
We may ask the winner whether they are happy for their first name and county to be published on TittleT.com to confirm that the prize was awarded. Agreement is optional, and declining will not affect the winner’s entitlement to the prize. Where necessary, information about the winning entry may still be supplied privately to the Advertising Standards Authority or another competent authority to demonstrate that a valid award took place.
Competition retention
Personal information belonging to non-winning entrants is normally removed 90 days after the competition closes, once a winner has been drawn. A non-personal record may remain so that Tittle T can retain accurate entry totals and competition history. If a winner has not yet been drawn, information may be retained beyond 90 days until the draw can be completed.
Winner-linked entries and necessary draw and fulfilment records may be retained for longer where reasonably required to demonstrate that the competition was administered fairly, fulfil the prize, respond to complaints, or establish, exercise or defend legal claims. Test entries created by authorised administrators do not represent genuine public entrants and are managed separately.
Future-competition emails
The option to receive emails about future Tittle T competitions and prize draws is separate from entering a competition. It is optional and is not selected automatically. If you choose this option, we store:
- your email address;
- the date and time of your consent;
- the competition through which you subscribed;
- the wording and version of the consent you were shown;
- your current subscription status; and
- the date of withdrawal if you unsubscribe.
We use this information only to send emails about future Tittle T competitions and prize draws. Each such email will include an unsubscribe facility. You may withdraw your consent at any time by using the unsubscribe link in an email or by contacting privacy@tittlet.com. Unsubscribing does not affect an existing competition entry. After you unsubscribe, we may retain a limited record of the consent and its withdrawal where reasonably necessary to demonstrate compliance and ensure that the address is not added back without fresh consent.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you may have rights over your personal information, including the right to:
These rights are not absolute and may depend on the circumstances. If you want to exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@tittlet.com.
